Just Jawing Birthday

As promised another birthday card, this time for my niece.  Using the same Old Olive and Tangerine Tango combo with a little black accent.  Love the bold look of this card for a young teen, this set has grown on me this year…what about you?  and I think I’m going to miss Tangerine after all.

Recently I was talking to a friend about getting color with outline stamps without having to color them in.  By stamping in black (or a dark color) onto colored card stock you can achieve instant color.  If you don’t mind cutting, you can also create layers and accents utilizing multiple colors with the same technique and put it all together to get a colorful finished project.

Thanks for taking a peek at today’s creation!  Have a great creative day!

Birthdays Abound

Happy Birthday Mom!  It was actually yesterday, but of course I didn’t want to spoil the surprise before she had a chance to receive it herself.  I love the colors and cheery look on this card and Stampin’ Up! Gift Certificate wrap - her birthday comes at the perfect time - always just before a new catalog and she always has a BIG list, so this will help her get started.

The first view is of the 2 pc ensemble - the card inspiration came from a blog I was browsing recently, and unfortunately I can’t remember which one…

Next up is a close up of the card.  The Olive and Tangerine Tango (almost retired) go so well together, don’t you think?  The little flowers on the ribbon were made with the flower trio punch just in case you want to try your hand at these little cuties.

AND a close up of the certificate wrap…

Thanks for peeking in!  Be back tomorrow with another birthday card…using the same colors, but totally different style and set.  See you then.

Razzle Dazzle Sketch

Last week I had a few minutes to create a card for the SCS Sketch Challenge - yes, I know that was Wednesday, but I ran out of time to photograph, edit and post the card.  This morning however, I had a little bit of time to prep some pretties for you to see over the next few days.

Starting with the sketch challenge - I used the new Razzle Dazzle set from Stampin ‘Up!  If you’re a demonstrator you may already have this set, if not…well you can order it from me on Wednesday (or before, and I’ll hold your order).  This set has so many possibilities…just wait til you see my class kit by mail option for this set - so be sure to stay tuned!

Enjoy your Sunday!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow for more inspiration.

By the Sea, By the Sea…

by the beautiful sea - you and me…Remember that song?  My twins love the ocean, and we are fortunate that we only live about an hour from beautiful Cape Cod.  This last fall we had a Columbus Day weekend visit to friends in Chatham - if you can see thru the glare (again, another not so great photo, sorry) you’ll notice the girls are decked in summer clothing - it was 80 degrees in October and YES, there were some folks swimming in the ocean that day.  Now here we are in mid June and we’ve hit 80 once…go figure.

Have a great stampin’ day!

Friends and flowers

go together so well.  I just love this set…and I love my Top Note die cut  - I think I could find a way to use it on almost every card!  Seriously, if you don’t have this die cut from Stampin’ Up! you really need to get it…you’ll use it over and over again!

oh - don’t forget the Butterfly die while you’re at it!  Have a great day!

U R …Scrap Page

Today I thought I would share an 8 1/2 x 8 1/5 scrap page I created as one of my Artisan projects…This page doesn’t incorporate stamping, but does use many of the awesome products offered by Stampin’ Up! like the On-board Chipboard, the yummy corduroy buttons, and the rub-ons.  Sorry it’s not a better shot, but I was in a hurry to get the package mailed off and unfortunately didn’t use my light box - Thanks for taking a peek!

Happy creating!

Summer Party Fun

Recently we held our Demonstrator Extravaganza here in Massachusetts - kind of like a Mini-Regional - a great guest speaker, updates on all the Stampin’ Up! happenings, technique and product demonstrations and what would an event be without Make-n-takes?  Here’s the ensemble I designed for the attendees to make…this is an adorable set, perfect for your summer pool party, beach party or change it up a little and make a BBQ party - completely switch seasons and embellish with Halloween or Fall stamps - all in all this is a versatile set, quick and easy to duplicate.

Happy Summer!
