Valentine Shortbread

Hello Friends!

I hope you are all surviving the snow that has spread the entire East Coast the last week or so.  We were super lucky here in Massachusetts….the BIG snow fizzled and really amounted to very little (an inch maybe) where we live.  After six weeks of no snow, I really don’t want any now.  Needless to say, based on the prediction of snow, we had an early release - which meant we were home by noon - woohoo!  I have many home projects in the finishing stages at this point since we are having company over vacation week so I took advantage of the few extra hours.

Don’t think I spent hours on house projects…I got distracted by these:

Super easy, super quick, super yummy, super for Valentines Day!  Heart Shaped Shortbread Cookies - a little heart shaped Dove chocolate and a little pink chocolate drizzled over the top - and this morning perfect with coffee or tea.  Actually, they are for a Cafe project for the kids in my classroom…but who says I didn’t sneak one?

Thanks for peeking!

Love Bandit

Well hello friends!  Welcome to Tuesday - aren’t you glad Monday is over and done with?  Before I returned to working outside of the home, I always thought Mondays were the best…that was the day the kids went back to school, I had the house to myself to regroup, get caught up on chores AND do some creating…now I usually can’t wait to get through Monday.  This Monday evening, I made a little time to participate in the SCS challenge - Try a New Technique - take a look at this cute Bucket Purse - cute, eh?  If you’re a demonstrator, I also posted it over at Stampin’ Connection - some really great ideas over there…just search Valentine and take a look at all of the ideas - FABULOUS!

I couldn’t resist using Love Bandit…just so cute.  I also used the new small heart punch from Stampin’ Up! and some yummy (but retired) sheer organdy ribbon.  Slowly but surely, I’m making my way through my Valentine gifty list…so hopefully you won’t mind all of the little packaging ideas over the next few posts.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Challenges

Good Morning!  Life presents many challenges…finding time to be creative these days is just one of my many challenges.  When pressed for time, I find it useful to jump into one of the challenges hosted by Split Coast, the new Stampin’ Connection or other sites/blogs.  Yesterday I chose the Featured Stamper Challenge over at Split Coast…the gallery belongs to ButterflyEars (aka Nichole).  She has a wonderful gallery and I was inspired to make this card:

Once again, I used some retired lovelies…Baja Breeze card stock, Baja ribbon…pretty retired designer paper…and one of my favorite stamp sets Embrace Life.  The flowers are stamped onto watercolor cardstock and colored using the Baja ink and Aquapainters.

Have a creative day!

Bella Rose Gift Box

Happy Sunday friends!  We are in a deep freeze here and given that my crafting studio is at basement level, it’s a bit chilly down there today.  So I’m creating in bits and pieces today.

Does anyone else miss the Bella Rose designer paper, Riding Hood Red, and Pink Pirouette besides me?  My supply is getting dangerously low, so I’m using it sparingly.  Today, I altered a 5 1/2 x 3 3/4″  by 2 1/2″ tall box that was part of a cookie package we received from a business associate.  The boxes are super sturdy so I just couldn’t part with them.  I have a few birthdays coming up so I thought they would make the perfect size box for a gift card and a little something extra…here’s the Before and After:

and here are a couple of other views of the finished project.  I hate it when I make something I really like…I have a hard time parting with it!  In addition to the Bella Rose, I used the oval die cut, Birds and Blooms, Sweetest Stem for the Big Shot, the yummy new felt flowers in the Occasions Mini, the pink taffeta ribbon, as well as the new scallop punch you can get FREE with your Sale A Bration purchase…you can go here to order direct, or contact me at stampwithrobin@comcast.net …

Stay warm!

Sweetness

Hello there friends - I know it has been a while, AGAIN, but life keeps us on our toes.  With the kids school, sports and work for me…the days never seem to have enough hours.  Are you finding enough time to enjoy some crafty goodness for yourselves?  There really is no better time than these colder, snowy days - really warms the soul to create something handmade.

Today. I have a sweet little trinket box to share with you - the box is made of paper mache, I painted the bottom and rim with the shimmer paint tinted with a little pink and burgundy ink.  The box is covered with yummy paper, retired organdy ribbon, chipboard, felt flowers and a corduroy button.  The box will hold 4 Lindt Truffles, or some other small treat - sure to add a little sweetness to someone’s day.

Note, all products are Stampin’ Up!, current and retired.  Hope you’re a little inspired!  Happy creating -

Seasonal Snowman Three Ways

So…back before Christmas, I had stamped, colored and cut out the head of the Seasonal Snowman Thanks…you know, to make package tags, LOL!  SERIOUSLY, how did I think these would get made among all the other stuff I had to do?  The great thing about this craft is that we can set things aside and find something to do with the items later…it’s still snowman season, right?  AND, I am overdue with my thank you notes, so I put them to good use.  Take a look at this adorable trio of thanks:

and each individual card:

All three cards use the new punch from Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini - don’t you love it?  The rest of the supplies are old news..but stay tuned, I’m on a roll and promise to use some new SAB and Occasions goodies again soon.

Have a great day! and Happy Creating!
